Jandy R

This is a seriously upstanding mare with fascinating bloodlines. Jive Magic, sire of Jandy R, really was looking the goods to be a top Australian Grand Prix dressage horse, winning the Grand Prix with Rozzie in the saddle at Sydney CDI 2010 (proabably the most prestigous International dressage show on the Australian calendar at the time) before sustaining a breeding injury that cut short his competition career. Jandy R is out of Vinca of Coolalee (Bay Andy), who in turn is by Animoso Vll. Animoso Vll was imported by Heath’s parents, Rod and Sue Ryan, in the 1970s and this stallion proved to be the most amazing horse. At that time the Ryan boys were wild pony clubbers and Heath rode Animoso Vll to dressage wins in Sydney (This is truly an amaizing achievment and endorsement of just how good Animoso VII was!). Animoso sired amazing progeny from very limited opportunity and produced Southland of Coolalee, first reserve for the 1988 Seoul Australian Olympics 3DE with Matt Ryan. Benwerrin of Coolalee went on to win Worrigee 3DE 3*. All of these horses piaffed and passaged, although we didn’t really know what to do with it. Anyway, a great line. The thoroughbred Miss Tracey who is the dam of Vinca of Coolalee produced a four-star eventer that Simon Kale rode around Badminton. Jandy R has produced a number of very promising youngsters with one of the eldest being Revelry R, campaigned by Heath. Revelry R was very successful winning numerous preliminary championships, then novice championships, then elementary championships, then medium championships at the age of 6 and then won his first 6 Advanced starts in a row before being sold for an undisclosed price. Without question he is a real winner and is now schooling all the Grand Prix movements. Hopefully Revelry R will go on with his new owners and become a super star Grand Prix horse. Jandy R was sold in foal to Regardez Moi and so a full sister now belongs to Phillip and Kylie Ewart who also own the Stallion Wimborne Constable. Heath and Rozzie have retained a full sister to Revelry R, Random R who will continue on as a broodmare so that this line is preserved. Of course, like most of the Ryan broodmares, it is a real shame that these mares are not given the opportunity to perform as top of the range competition horses.
