One of the primary considerations for this Broodmare Business Venture is to network people of like minds and exchange top of the range bloodstock which will respond to passion and as a result contribute to the Australian coalface and future in the Olympic disciplines.
I recognise that no matter how wonderful these horses are which I have developed over the last 25 years they are nothing more than farm animals unless I can find passionate partners for these individuals. Only then do these spectacular horses have something to offer Australia.
I am currently looking for a number of carefully selected individuals to join me in producing these superstars of the future

The mares are to be sold on condition of complying with a 3 year contract. The mares immediately become the property of the new owner however they remain under contract with Ryans during these first three breeding seasons. After this time the broodmare purchaser is no longer under any obligation to Ryans.
The contract essentially requires that the foals produced during that 3 year contract period are to be sold either privately or through auction with 35% of the sale price payable to Ryans.
Ryans will assist with the marketing of these foals through their website, database and client list at no charge to the broodmare owner.
Owners are encouraged (but not obligated) to place these foals for sale through the Auction of the Stars facility. Discount nomination fees are offered to these contracted broodmare owners.
Provision is made for owners who fall in love with their foal and do not wish to part with it. In this case the foal does not need to offered for sale. $3,500 is payable to Ryans and the foal immediately becomes the property of the broodmare owner.
Each mare sold under this Broodmare Breeding contract is initially sold in foal to one of the Ryans imported stallions with a Live Foal Guarantee.
It is not a requirement to use Ryans stallions during the 3 year contract and in fact the broodmare owner may choose to use any stallion they think has commercial value. If however the broodmare owner chooses to use a Ryans stallion they will receive a 70% discount off the advertised service fee. This discount applies to any stallion standing at Ryans. Currently these include: Regardez Moi (imp), Jive Magic (imp), Fiji R (imp), Starnberg (imp) and Promise R.
Individuals/Studs who participate in this Broodmare Breeding Venture are also entitled to a 25% discount on Ryans stallion service fees for other broodmares in their herd.
In order to participate in this Broodmare Breeding Venture an individual (or stud) can apply to purchase up to two mares. $10,000 is payable to Ryans for each mare. Upon payment of this fee the broodmare immediately becomes the property of the purchaser. These mares typically sell outright for between $15,000 and $25,000.
Details specific to Western Australian residents only.
A $2,000 reduction in the purchase price of the broodmare is applicable to WA residents. This is to assist with the transport costs involved in reloacting the mare from NSW to WA. Hence broodmares being sold in this package are available for $8,000 each to WA residents.
One of the commercial considerations for the Broodmare Venture in WA is to produce enough foals each year in WA to make an “Auction of the Stars” facility viable on an annual basis.
In WA the contract essentially requires that the resulting foals be prepared and produced for sale at the annual Auction of the Stars held in or around Perth. However should the mare owner decide to retain the foal and not offer the foal for sale through the auction then $3,500 is due to Ryans which releases the foal in full to the Broodmare Venture participant.
Ordinarily Auction of the Stars nomination fees are currently $748 per nomination. Members of the Ryans Broodmare Business Venture in WA are eligible for one nomination per Ryans mare per year at no charge.
There is a marketing fee of $50 per month per Ryans mare in WA. This fee will assist in general marketing of the WA foals and of the WA auction.
