Sire: Stirling Sprite Dam: Bonza Bluebell
Further Information
Bonza Troy was bred by Matt Ryan (double Olympic Gold Medalist) and initially sold at Auction of the Stars. Sappho purchased this horse from the girl who purchased him at Auction of the Stars - not long after the auction. Troy is a grey gelding carrying the Salute bloodlines through Stirling Sprite. Striling Sprite was a stallion with the Turner family from Oberon who showjumped at World Cup levels with Vicki Roycroft. On Sprite's dam side was the thoroughbred Double Cream who was the sire of many advanced 3 Day eventers including Trade Commissioner who went to the Seol Olympics for Australia with Scott Keach in the saddle.
Troy is schooling Medium level at the moment with Sappho in the dressage arena and we have aspitations for him to go FEI level. Troy is a more than handy jumper and is careful and shows signs of trying really hard to do clear rounds even when Sappho makes the odd boo boo. He is worth his weight in gold. Crosscountry he is bold and not super fast so encourages Sappho to ride very thoughtful lines which makes him even more valuable from a schoolmaster point of view. Heath feels that Troy will end up a very useful Advanced horse. Sappho has already been offered reasonable amounts of money especially from overseas buyers but Troy is here to stay!
