Shoshona Newman started at Ryan's on 19th February 2014.
Shoshona started life as a show rider and was produced by her mum Chloe. Shoshona describes her mum as the ultimate "Show Mum" who specialised in producing her two daughters for the rider classes. Shoshona is a naturally beautiful rider with a string of show performances already to her credit which include winning Grand National 12-15yo Rider twice and also winning at Royals such as Sydney and Brisbane.
Shoshona has brought one of her special ponies with her to Ryans in Sheldene Chance. Interestingly Sheldene Chance, has serious talent for dressage and is a super careful little jumper. Ultimately Chance will get sold as he only stands 13.3hh however in the meantime he is lots of fun and is bending his mind around shoulder-in, half-pass and massive extensions. Chance is also going to have some beautiful tempi flying changes.
Shoshona has had her first dressage competition here at Ryan's where she partnered a Jive Magic youngster called Jose R. Between Jose R and his natural talent and Shoshona's beautiful show ring skills this partnership won both tests and scored over 69%. This sure is a heck of a start!
Shoshona has already become involved with the breaking in activities and the schooling of some newly broken youngsters. Shoshona is very sensitive and does get on with some of the more nervous horses. Heath has a very lovely 3* eventer called Aspire R who is so spooky that he is difficult to handle. Shoshona has developed a special connection with Aspire R.
Early days for Shoshona but big dreams and this profile I hope will have lots and lots of updates over the next couple of years!
