Ashlie OliverAshlie started as a working pupil at Ryans at the very young age of 16yrs in 2008. She came from a very enthusiastic yet non-horsey family in Victoria. Ashlie's father, Bryan was a very succesful racing car driver in his younger days and it is from here that Ashlie has inherited his very competitive nature. Ashlie's mum, Gael is a nurse and has to be very long suffering to put up with both Ashlie and her dad.
Ashlie first started appearing on the Ryan's horizon when as a 15 year old in 2007 she flew to Lexington Kentucky for the 3DE in the USA when Heath was riding there with Flame. At the time Heath's groom was Paul Slattery and Ashlie lent great support.
Ashlie is very, very focused on competition and riding for Australia at the Olympics as an Eventer. Ashlie has two horses which she is campaigning at Pre-Novice Level, DIABLO HEART who is an old Advanced horse and BB Teaspoon who is a wonderful little horse by Brilliant Invader who is the Sire of Gold Medalist Ready Teddy ridden by NZ rider, Blyth Tait. Ashlie is also unique in that she has a great understanding of the Stud here at Ryans and she has embarked on her own little breeding project. She has a couple of Broodmares which are equivelent to the cutting edge of those mares in the Ryan broodmare herd. What's more, Ashlie has a young stallion called Roving Lights who is by REGARDEZ MOI. Roving Lights who, courtesy of his dam Pashris, is of enormous interest both from a Dressage point of view and an Eventing point of view. Roving Lights has a full brother with Olympian Olivia Bunn which is showing huge promise. Only Ashlie could have manouvered herself into such an exciting business like position and we look forward to a very exciting career.
